Annie Jackson: Loving Artist, Sister, Friend
Annie created close friends and community wherever she lived and worked. A gifted artist, making art was her life. Yet she was always available to help anyone, in any situation, to listen, to care.
Annie was 66 years old. She lived in Rancho Mirage, and had lived in the Palm Springs area for 35 years. She was predeceased by her husband less than 2 years ago. She was eighth in a family of thirteen children, the first to die.
Memorial services will take place in Palm Springs.
Her sisters have requested that donations be made in memory of Annie Jackson to Arts for LA.
About Arts for LA:
Arts for LA represents the politics of arts. We advocate for policies that value the arts and artists, strengthen grassroots leadership and leaders, educate elected officials of the pivotal and vital role the arts play in achieving their constituents’ needs, and ensure that we are part of all policy discussion that affect our communities, neighborhoods, artists, and the arts sector.
Arts for LA is on the frontline of both arts issues and social issues that can be transformed by and through the arts. We lead as a voice for the arts, and build coalitions that work to protect and promote artists rights, voters rights, freedom of expression, the security of immigrants and refugees, and affordable, safe housing for artists
